Mobile Application Privacy Policy
How the Hostry mobile applications handle your data.
This policy explains how Hostry Compute LLC, a Delaware limited liability company with its registered office at 2810 N Church St STE 89834, Wilmington, DE 19802, United States ("Hostry", "we", "us", "our"), handles information collected through the Hostry mobile applications (the "Hostry Apps").
It supplements the main Privacy Policy, which governs your Hostry account and services generally. Where this policy is silent, the main Privacy Policy applies. Your use of the Hostry Apps is also governed by the Mobile Application EULA.
1. What the Hostry Apps Are For
The Hostry Apps give you mobile access to your Hostry account: viewing and managing your services, monitoring server status, handling billing, and communicating with support.
They are account management tools. They are not advertising-supported, and we do not use them to build advertising profiles.
2. Age Requirement
The Hostry Apps are intended for persons aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it and close the account. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact dp@hostry.com.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Account Information
Where you sign in, we process the account data described in Section 3 of the main Privacy Policy — name, email address, company details, billing records and service data. The Hostry Apps do not create a separate account; they access your existing Hostry account.
3.2 Device and Technical Information
Collected automatically when you use a Hostry App:
- device model, operating system and version;
- application version and build;
- device language and region settings;
- mobile carrier and connection type;
- IP address;
- crash reports, diagnostic logs and performance data;
- a device or installation identifier, used to deliver push notifications and to keep your session secure.
3.3 Usage Information
- which screens and features you use, and when;
- actions performed on your services through the App;
- authentication events, including failed sign-in attempts.
3.4 Content You Submit
- support tickets and messages you send through the App;
- files or screenshots you attach to a ticket;
- configuration changes you make to your services.
3.5 Location
The Hostry Apps do not collect precise (GPS-level) location data, and do not collect location data in the background.
We may infer approximate location at country level from your IP address, for security purposes such as detecting sign-ins from unexpected regions.
3.6 Payment Data
We do not collect or store full payment card numbers, CVV codes or bank credentials. In-app purchases are processed by the mobile platform operator or by third-party payment providers under their own privacy policies.
3.7 Biometric Data
Where you enable fingerprint or face authentication to unlock the App, that authentication is performed by your device's operating system. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to or stored by Hostry.
4. How We Use Information
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Authenticating you and maintaining your session | Performance of a contract |
| Displaying and managing your services and billing | Performance of a contract |
| Sending push notifications about your services | Performance of a contract; consent for optional notifications |
| Providing support and responding to tickets | Performance of a contract |
| Detecting fraud, abuse and unauthorized access | Legitimate interests |
| Diagnosing crashes and improving app stability | Legitimate interests |
| Analyzing aggregate feature usage to improve the App | Legitimate interests |
| Complying with legal and regulatory obligations | Legal obligation |
We do not use your information for interest-based or cross-application advertising.
5. Push Notifications
With your permission, we send push notifications about service status, incidents, billing events and support ticket replies.
You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings, or in the App's own notification settings. Disabling them does not affect your account, but you may miss time-sensitive alerts about your services. Critical notices are also sent by email.
6. Sharing
We share information only as described in Section 7 of the main Privacy Policy. In the context of the Hostry Apps, this means:
- mobile platform operators — Apple and Google, in connection with app distribution, in-app purchases and push notification delivery;
- crash reporting and diagnostics providers, to identify and fix defects;
- payment providers, for in-app purchases;
- law enforcement and authorities, where compelled by valid legal process.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
7. Third-Party SDKs
The Hostry Apps include third-party components for the purposes listed in Section 6: app distribution and push delivery by the mobile platform operators, crash reporting and diagnostics, and payment processing for in-app purchases. These components receive only the data needed for those purposes.
A current itemised list of the third-party SDKs included in each build, naming the provider and the data each one accesses, is available on request from dp@hostry.com.
8. Identifiers and Tracking
The Hostry Apps use a device or installation identifier to maintain your session and deliver push notifications. This identifier is not used for advertising and is not shared with advertising networks.
We do not use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or the Google Advertising ID (AAID), and the Hostry Apps do not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt because there is no tracking to consent to.
If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and obtain any consent required by the platform and by applicable law before collecting such data.
9. Social Logins
Where a Hostry App offers sign-in through a third-party account, we receive from that provider only the profile fields necessary to create and authenticate your account, typically your name and email address. We do not request access to your contacts, friends lists or social graph.
We do not control, and are not responsible for, the third-party provider's own processing of your data. Review their privacy policy to understand it and to set your preferences.
10. Where Information Is Stored
Information collected through the Hostry Apps is processed in the United States and in the countries where our infrastructure and service providers operate.
Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, together with supplementary technical measures including encryption in transit and at rest.
11. Retention
Retention periods match those in Section 9 of the main Privacy Policy. Specifically for the Hostry Apps:
| Category | Retention |
|---|---|
| Crash reports and diagnostic logs | 90 days |
| Authentication and access logs | Up to 12 months |
| Push notification tokens | Until you disable notifications or uninstall the App |
| Support tickets submitted through the App | Duration of the contract plus 3 years |
| Account and billing data | As set out in the main Privacy Policy |
12. Deleting Your Data
Uninstalling the App does not delete your data. Uninstalling removes the App from your device and stops push notifications, but your Hostry account and its data remain.
To delete your data:
- delete individual data — through your account settings in the App or the Portal;
- close your account and delete associated data — open a ticket in the Portal, or write to dp@hostry.com. Account closure is subject to settlement of any outstanding balance;
- request erasure under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or other applicable law — write to dp@hostry.com.
Data we are legally required to retain — billing, tax and AML records — is kept for the periods in the main Privacy Policy, even after account closure.
13. Your Rights
You have the rights described in Section 10 of the main Privacy Policy, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent, together with the California rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
Requests are free of charge. We may charge a reasonable fee only where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in particular because of its repetitive character, and we will explain the reason before charging anything.
Submit requests to dp@hostry.com or through the Portal.
14. Security
Information transmitted between the Hostry Apps and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS. Authentication tokens are stored in the secure storage provided by the device operating system — the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore.
You are responsible for securing your device, including using device-level authentication and keeping the operating system updated. See Section 9 of the Mobile Application EULA.
15. Data Breach
In the event of a personal data breach we follow the procedure in Section 14 of the main Privacy Policy, including notification of the competent supervisory authority within 72 hours where individuals in the EEA or UK are affected and the breach is likely to result in a risk to their rights and freedoms.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through an in-app message or by email before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
